Nobody makes it out of here alive

Ron DouglasNobody makes it out of here alive. We’re all only here on this planet for a short period of time and once your times up, that’s it.

Someone said this to me recently and it really it home when I put it in perspective. Let me explain…

I used to think my purpose was to work hard and become a millionaire, so I grinded away everyday with that goal as my focus. And once I achieved that net worth number a few years ago, it didn’t make me as happy as I imagined it would. I still felt incomplete, as if I couldn’t find my real purpose.

I began questioning what I am doing all this work for. I couldn’t
get excited about waking up in the morning. Granted I realize how fortunate I am to be financially secure, but I felt an emptiness that was screaming to me that I needed to find something more meaningful in life.

And honestly, I’ve struggled with this for the past year. It’s the
reason I haven’t been as active Online as I should and the reason
you haven’t heard from me in a while. I’m struggling to find my

Maybe you can relate.

Most people get up and go to work everyday doing tasks they don’t
enjoy just to pay the bills. Wake up, go to work, eat, watch tv,
go to sleep and do it all again tomorrow. Maybe they get two weeks
off to recharge so that they can come back to this meaningless but
necessary routine.

Life is way too short for that. To quote an excellent book titled
“What on Earth Am I Here For?” by Rick Warren – “The greatest
tragedy is not death but life without purpose.”

Recently, with the help of my wife, I’ve gotten clarity as to what
my purpose should be…

Purpose in life can’t be based on a self-centered goal. In order to
experience true happiness, your purpose and your daily focus has to
be on serving others.

Not to get too religious on you but, by serving others, we serve
God. And only through Him can we find true meaning in life and
achieve true happiness.

Now even if you don’t believe in God, believe that you are here for
a purpose and you must find that purpose in service to others.
It’s the only way to find meaning in what you do everyday. It’s
the only way to make a difference that’s truly fulfilling.

And the good news is, when you do that, money inevitably follows.
To quote Zig Ziglar “you can get everything in life you want if you
will just help enough other people get what they want.”

So the question you should ask yourself is – based on my knowledge,
experience, talents, and skills, what can I do to best help others?

And if you’re reading this, you probably already know that once you
decide on what you want to focus on, the easiest way to reach the
people who need your service is Online.

Maybe you want to serve people who want to lose weight, or have a
better marriage, or get out of debt, or be better parents, etc. The
list goes on and on, but the point is – the opportunity is there
for you.

I don’t care how competitive you think the market is, if you can
step in and truly help people with your unique experience, talents,
and perspective, it is your duty to do so. I give you permission to
find your purpose by serving others, even if you do it for
selfish reasons. As long as you seize the amazing opportunity we
have right now to make life more meaningful for yourself and others.

So what is my purpose, how can I best serve people based on my

I’ve come to the conclusion that the best way I can help people is
by teaching them what I know best – how to build a following Online
and how to best serve that following. And by doing this, I believe
people can live a more meaningful life and earn a second income in
the process.

It’s my duty to do so because I’m damn good at it and I can teach
it to others. I plan to be much more prolific with sharing my
knowledge and experience going forward. It’s my purpose, my way to
serve, and my opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.

    Hi Ron,

I like your new idea. After being bombarded for years and receiving probably hundreds of thousands of emails offering money-making systems in that time and feeling they were all scams, I always wondered why -if someone wanted you to employ their ‘so called’ lucrative methods, then why wouldn’t they take a commission after you used that system if it was so fool proof. They control it and could collect commissions before you did. They want money before you know it works, probably because what they offer doesn’t work at all. I look forward to your new thing. You are the only one out there that seems above board, trustworthy, and worth my time and effort.

  4. Hello Ron, Thank you for your candor. Really can relate to “chasing other goals” only to achieve and still not feel satisfied or truly accomplished. You so correct, once our needs are met ( and can be continually met) the other fulfillment “take life”. Now, that I can feed, clothe, house, and protect myself and loveones, what else is there?
Like many other who have tackled this question, the screaming answer ( at least in my head) was serve others and help them do the same. WOW, simple and profound and most rewardingly, doable!!!
I look forward to getting the details of your new program ( I really enjoyed your videosharing program, which I made my investment back and a profit). I know, you know, what you are doing!! Thank you for willingly sharing.
    At your service,

    Hi Ron,
Perhaps you needed to crystallize the purpose. I feel you were doing this for quite a while. I heard about Video Forward in , I think, 2009. I heard the webinar and you generously offered a huge discount to the listeners. I could not take advantage of it because I did not have the income. I used the monthly deal, in the interest of creating revenue online. I had resigned my position to care for my husband, what I am still doing to this day. Video Forward was fun, however, as with all ventures it needed time. But you did something good there and given the type of person you are to even consider this, more than likely did similar things earlier. And thanks.

Thanks Allison, VideoForward had a good run and many people made there first money Online from that site. I was so disappoint to have to shut down the program but with Google penalizing the site from Adsense and from their search results, it just didn’t work anymore. I could have kept collecting payments from it, but I’d be wasting my member’s time. Lessons learned. On to the next thing.

Hi Ron, I was with you in the “old Days” of VideoForward and I’m with you now. Can’t wait!
