Linkbuilding After Google Penguin 2.0 Slap

google slapWell, Google is at it again. They announced their Penguin 2.0 algorithm change is coming soon to a site near you. And honestly, I couldn’t care less.

I learned my lesson about depending on Google and trying to game their system.  In the long run, it’s just not worth it.

My sites that gave Google what they want have survived and are still getting lots of free search engine traffic.  What they want is simple – high quality, unique content that gets shared by readers, and legitimate links from relevant sites.

That’s it.  If you can do that, you never have to worry about their search algorithm changing and your site will get more and more free
traffic over time.

So lets break it down… The content part is self explanatory, but
what about getting relevant backlinks?

I could give you a dozen different ways to do it, including guest
posting, blog commenting, press releases, content syndication, link
bait content, etc.  The one way I’ve found that works best for me
though is simply having a product and an affiliate program.

Affiliates are some of the best link builders for you because they
have the incentive of earning commissions.  They’ll put their
affiliate links to your product everywhere – review sites, social
media, article directories, blogs, forums, you name it.

And yes, affiliate links, such as Clickbank links that redirect to
a sales page on your site, do count towards your search engine
rankings.

You can even take it a step further and create content that
affiliates can use to promote your site and send it to them
directly.  Make it as easy as possible for them to earn a
commission.

Another thing I forget to mention with this link building strategy
is – you want to have your content site and your sales page on the
same domain to get the benefits of the affiliate links.  Your sales
page doesn’t have to be your home page.  It could be
yoursite.com/offer or something else.  Then you can make your
homepage a blog, a forum, or any other type of content.

That’s what has worked for me to get over 520k visits per month to
just one of my sites. And that’s after all the dreaded changes from
Google.

I hope this gives you some insights you can use.
